The Ultimate List of Virtual Worlds
Where you can chat, make new friends and even create new worlds!
You enter – lonely 3D avatar – but soon you change your clothes, your look, your gender, your age, the color of your skin… everything.
You drive expensive cars, you travel to different worlds, you meet new people. Everything is possible. You are in the virtual reality.
It’s time to make a top. And ask a question: where do YOU spend most of your time? Do you enjoy virtual realities? Are you a 3D world fan?
The clear winner is Second Life. It’s popular for casual users, it’s popular with companies too. Mixing business with fun seems to be more than a trend. And why not? It keeps us sane…

Second Life is a game that grows with its users. It’s more of a business environment than anything else, because the challenge is to enter and start building something. But many users go in to meet people – we can easily call Second Life a dating channel; there are enough stories. Now Second Life has a version for teens too.
Second Life is everywhere, even at eBay if you can believe that!
Next we have World of Warcraft – with its amazing graphics, artwork, games and a powerful community. The community site is quite amazing.

One look at this site and you will know that its users mean serious business. This is a multiplayer online role-playing game and not a real-time strategy game. Go in, join the fun, start exploring, fight monsters and interact with the other players.
Another popular 3D games world: Maid Marian. This one has a lot of sex appeal too. The games at Maid Marian are free and they don’t require you to sign up for an account. These are also MMORP games with strict rules of conduct. You can chat with other players, make your own music, throw a party and enjoy a full gaming experience.

Active Worlds is a 3D online chat where you can create worlds, visit worlds built by other users, play 2D and 3D online games, shop and talk to the store clerks and even use this platform as an educational tool.

Kaneva is a 3D social networking site. It has a very cool interface, welcoming design focused more on the 3D world than on anything else. Joining is free and trouble free, and once in you get to hang out with your friends (even go at the mall) and chat about… everything you want. Once you get to know it better you’ll understand that this game is… online dating chat.

Do you want to go There? I bet you do if you like exploring all kinds of 3D worlds. Kaneva and Second Life are just not enough. There is cool, in a different way. It’s been around for a while already. You get to choose between a free basic membership and a paid membership – for even more fun. But the basic is enough to get you started.

This is not so easy to play: Cybertown needs a geeky touch. From the Cybertown site:
Cybertown is the next logical step in the development of community. From a community to a civilization, there is a clear movement from generic, mainstream community portals to deeper, focused, interactive communities with content tailored to individual interests, style, and taste.

Last but not least we have Nicktropolis – a popular 3D world for kids. Over 5500000 users enjoy this world. I guess the kids need such a place to learn and play too!

Wonderful and interesting site!

Thanks Kofty. It was a lot of work to visit all the sites and test all the worlds. I still like Maid Marian the most. The games are free and quite cool.
