Chris Zaal, his ideas, his content and the value his blog provides to his readers exemplifies what blogging “should” be about. Each week we will showcase one of the very best blogs hosted at THC.

We believe in the power of people to inform, promote change and ultimately expand our horizons. It is clear to us that the interconnectivity and collaboration possible between all of us has yet to be realized fully. It is important to acknowledge that Web 3.0 will more and more be about enhancing these interrelationships.

Random Static

We chose Chris’s blog for our initial post in this series because of his honesty and straightforward approach to topics. The blog addresses subjects form an extremely personal perspective. This is can be a very impactful approach but often some negative aspects need to be refined.

Personal opinion backed by collaboration can be an effective blogging tool. Also, credibility is achieved via the obvious sincerity of this approach and whenever subjects are chosen because of general public opinion value.

The down side of this “personal” approach to blogging is that mistakes in writing or inappropriate wording/phrasing can be detrimental. Chris has all the positive variables mentioned, but he should rethink the use of profanity for the sake of profanity.

Extremely inflammatory terms and suggestions can detract heavily from a writer’s credibility and negate any positive effect gained.

All in all, Chris has done an excellent job of presenting topical subjectivity with a clean blog template that is easy to read and truthful.
